Please Give it a listen

Today I went to my first chapel service of the semester. It was not, to be sure, the first chapel of the year, but this was the first one that I decided to "make an appearance" at.  Interestingly, and this was news to me, my appearance was not a noteworthy event. I am shocked and appalled. Well, on to what matters...

I am not sure that a sermon has ever encouraged and convicted me more than this one. I am tempted to summarize it for you, but I won't because I want you to listen to it. If you get a chance, please, go to sbts.edu and click on resources and listen to the chapel message from today, Thursday Sept. fourth.

I don't want to say anything more about the sermon, though it is killing me not to. Still, because you cannot watch the sermon, I will tell you that the part where he "reads" Romans chapters one through nine, he never once looked at a Bible...no, not once. Please give it a listen.

Cohen when this guy began to recite from memory from verse one of chapter one did you pee your pants? What an incredible challenge! I loved how he brought the scripture alive with his reading and made you feel it. And the questions that he asked were like a dagger to the heart! How far are we willing to go for the salvation of others? Are we willing to give greatly? How greatly? Would you be willing to give even of your salvation? or like Paul do you wish you could trade your own personal salvation for the salvation of someone else? Do you love them that much? Do you love them like Jesus did? What a challenge! This will take some time to swallow...
