Guess who?

Since all but one of you that contribute to this blog may never earn a seminary degree, I am prompted to ask...guess who never had any formal theological training...???

If you guessed John Calvin, then you are correct. Scholars from every Christian tradition, by and large, agree that Calvin is the most important exegete/theologian since Augustine. He has not only shaped all of Christendom, but also modern law and political theory. Certainly, he had incredible gifts, but the God who gifted him is with you. Love Jesus, study the scriptures, teach with passion, and watch what God does! Your impact may be greater than you expect!
