A 'friend' of Matt's the Dean of the school of Theology at SBST wrote and interesting blog post recently. I'd ask for you to give it a read and leave you thoughts here.
I think this blog post extremely well written and, more than that, profoundly true and convicting. I consistently shame the name of Christ by not wanting to get my hands dirty with the types of people that Jesus identified with most consistently.
I hope no one is offended in a bad way by this post. After all Jesus did become our sin so that we could become the righteousness of God through him (2 Cor. 5:21). I want to live out the example of Jesus.
The 'friend' title is sort of funny. I don't know if he would consider me a friend, but the amazing thing is that though he is a pastor and helps lead a school of nearly 5,000 students, he always remembers me by name when I pass him in the hall! I wish I had that skill and care!
