Hey guys and gals,
I've been reading Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand the last two days. I'm about half way through, and I must say that this book has shocked me and tested my faith like no other book I've read. Wurmbrand recounts his days in Romania from his salvation to his evangelism to Romanian/Russian communists as part of the Underground Church, to his 14 torturous years in Communist jails, to defeating communism. His faith, boldness, and love for Christ and Communists is exemplary. I've been edified immensely in reading the depth of love that many persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ have for our Lord and for their persecutors. It's very hard for me to explain how in awe I am of the passionate, strong faith of those mentioned in this book.
I would highly recommend that you get your hands on this book. I got mine for free from Campus Crusade (though I had to pay shipping), and if you go to www.studylight.org, a similar offer pops up as the home page loads. It says the book is free, but I imagine you would have to pay the shipping and handling for it as well. It is well worth it.
